Well positioned for security
The first e-shelter data center in Switzerland, which opened in June 2011, is located in Rümlang near Zurich. The building, consisting of two parts, has about 7,000 sqm of high-availability data center space in the first building. In the new building, which has been planned and equipped solely for use as a data center, state-of-the-art technology is being used to increase energy efficiency, in particular cooling technology. For example, CO high-temperature heating pumps are being used to heat the large office and warehouse spaces outside the data center and collected rainwater will be used to cleaning the ventilation systems.

The building also has received the LEED Platinum Pre-Certification from the US Green Building Council.

Monitoring by e-shelter own 24/7 Security Command and Control Center with security personnel from e-shelter security on-site
Standardized security processes and the 7-level security system secure the tenant areas and technical operations
Access control via non-contact chip and PIN or optional biometrics signature
Secured perimeter zones with electronically monitored security fencing system, incorporating anti-climb and anti-tunneling protection
Technical operations:

Monitoring of all critical infrastructure by e-shelter own operation staff on-site
Standardized operation processes with amplified technical systems redundancy in order to ensure maximum reliability

Datacenter Connects between the data center Zurich and e-shelter locations, e.g. Campus Frankfurt 1 and Frankfurt 3; on request as well to commercial third-party data centers
Internet connections from 1 up to 10 Gbit/s as an additional service
