Amsterdam has risen to become one of the most important colocation ecosystems in Europe. With the city’s leading internet exchange and transatlantic fiber optic connections, Amsterdam’s technical infrastructure serves as both a provider and contributor to today’s digital economy. The Netherland’s rising reputation as a strategic technology location has not gone unnoticed with global hyper-scalers making large scale data center and digital infrastructure investments across the country, and several multinational corporations making their European headquarters in Amsterdam. At the same time, data center operators such as e-shelter continue to address the growing demand for colocation services within this market.

e-shelter’s Amsterdam 1 Data Center compliments the digital landscape and data center advantages of the Netherlands. Located in the Schiphol Rijks district of the city and scheduled to open in early 2019, Amsterdam 1 Data Center will deliver up to 39.6MW of IT load across 16,000 sqm of colocation space. The facility will follow e-shelter’s existing, highly successful operating model of offering an industry leading level of high quality infrastructure and services: flexible, high availability, scalable colocation space with high power density capacity and carrier neutrality, along with multiple cloud provider and carrier options. e-shelter will also offer both wholesale and retail colocation services, along with hybrid IT enterprise solutions within its Amsterdam facility.
