Itself s.r.o. was established in 1991 under the name SELF servis, s.r.o. and has become one of the largest providers of telecommunication services in the Czech republic. In June of 2013 the company underwent a change of its corporate identity and since then has been operating under the name itself s.r.o.

Since its inception, the company has focused on building cable television infrustructure, fiber optic transmission lines, and access networks. With the development of the telecommunications market, itself s.r.o expanded its portfolio and started operation of a cable TV network under the brand Selfnet, delivery of IPTV, and providing services of the optical backbone network with datacenters.
